Being Alone

I don't remember being alone. I have always had people around me. Which is probably why I am forever skyping with Sass or calling her. She no doubt is getting seriously sick of me.

Since I was sixteen there has always been a guy around. Be it a "special" friend, a boyfriend or just someone I texted all the time with serious flirtation.

I always had a male that I could turn to, that was proud of me, that would give me compliments, that would make me smile and laugh, and feel special.

The other day, I got an assignment back and I realised that I have no male to say to me that they were proud. It sucked.

Being single sucks.

[insert a sad face here]

Hun, while I totally understand where you're coming from, I think that being single, even for a short while, is so important. It teaches you to rely on yourself so you don't NEED anybody. It teaches you to enjoy your own company so you enjoy being alone. It teaches you to be independant, something I think every woman should be. And it teaches you to be strong so you can deal with anything that life throws at you, no matter who is or isn't by your side. The times I have been single have been the best thing to ever happen to me. It's made me who I am today, and that's fabulous.
